Sage Duo-Temp Pro water filter
The Sage Duo-Temp Pro takes the BES008 filter, but check one thing first. Find the 4-digit batch number on the base. 1738 or higher takes that filter; lower takes an older type. That covers 3 models, including the SES810BSS and SES810. Change it every 3 months.

Which water filter does the Sage Duo-Temp Pro take?
The BES008, also sold as SES008. The BES008 page lists every name shops sell it under and every other machine that takes it.
How often should I change it?
Every 3 months. That is longer than most filters, which run to 2 months — worth knowing if you are used to a different machine.
| Your water | Change it | Who says so |
|---|---|---|
| Soft, Moderate or hard | every 3 months | Sage does |
| Very hard | every 68 days | We do |
The manufacturer's figure is a maximum, not a target — softer water never means you can leave one in longer. Why that is
Do I need to check the batch number on my Duo-Temp Pro?
Yes — check this first.
Tip the machine gently and look at the base. There is a 4-digit number next to the serial number — that is the batch.
1738 or higher takes the BES008. Lower than that and yours takes an older type — in that case the part number printed on the cartridge you are removing is the reliable answer.
Can I use a cheaper compatible filter?
Yes. The BES008 is a plain push-in fitting — no chip, no lock, nothing for the machine to check. A compatible filter of the right shape does the same job as the manufacturer's own. Just confirm your batch number first, because that decides which shape you need.
What else takes the same filter?
11 other ranges in our list take the BES008. They are batch-gated too, so check each machine separately.

How sure are we about this?
We checked this one against Sage's own documentation.
That applies to the filter family. Which version you need still depends on the batch number on the base of your machine.
The part number printed on the filter you are removing is the final word. If it disagrees with this page, trust the cartridge.
