Every 2 months. That is the manufacturer's limit and it is a maximum, not a target — they state it as a time or a number of litres, whichever comes first. In a very hard water area we suggest about 6 weeks instead, which is our own advice rather than theirs.

Yes. The F088 is a plain mechanical fitting with no chip and no lock, so a compatible filter of the right shape works the same way as the manufacturer's own.
